Spooky Halloween Fun at JIS with Costumes Plays and Global Class Activities
The school corridors felt a little more mysterious, a little more colourful, and a lot more exciting on Halloween day at the Japanese International School (JIS). From the moment students arrived, it was clear that everyone had made a fantastic effort to join in the fun.
There were spooky costumes, funny costumes, clever costumes, and plenty of surprises. We saw Frieza, Piccolo, witches, Teletubbies, emperors, Where’s Wally, and almost everything in between. Everywhere you looked, there was something new to spot.
It was a day full of imagination, laughter, teamwork, and just the right amount of spookiness.
A School Day Full of Costumes and Creativity
Halloween at JIS is always a chance for students to show their creativity, and this year did not disappoint. The range of costumes was incredible. Some students chose spooky classics, while others came as favourite characters or funny surprises.
The witches added a traditional Halloween feel, with pointed hats and dark capes creating plenty of atmosphere. The emperors brought a dramatic touch, while Where’s Wally costumes gave everyone a fun game of “Can you spot them?” throughout the day.
There were also some brilliant character costumes. Frieza and Piccolo were easy to recognise and very popular with friends. The Teletubbies brought lots of smiles, proving that Halloween does not have to be scary to be fun.
What made the day special was not just the costumes themselves, but the effort behind them. Students arrived ready to take part, support each other, and enjoy the celebration together. That shared energy helped turn an ordinary school day into something memorable.
Thank you to everyone who dressed up and helped make the day feel so festive.
Class 5-1 Brought Dracula to the Stage
One of the big highlights of the day was the play performed by Class 5-1. Their Dracula performance added a wonderful theatrical moment to the celebration.
A Halloween play is always a challenge because it needs the right mix of suspense, fun, and confidence. Class 5-1 managed to bring the story to life in a way that entertained everyone. The students worked together on their roles, timing, expressions, and stage presence.
The Dracula theme was a perfect fit for the day. It gave the audience a spooky story to enjoy, while also giving the performers a chance to use dramatic voices, movement, and character acting. Plays like this help students practise much more than speaking lines. They build confidence, teamwork, listening skills, and the ability to perform in front of others.
It was clear that Class 5-1 had put care into their performance. Their hard work helped make the Halloween celebration feel even more special.
Global Class Students Took Part in Spooky Activities
Another exciting part of the day was the Global Class Students parties. Students from Year 4 to Year 6 were mixed into groups and visited different classrooms to take part in a range of spooky activities.
This was a great way for students from different year groups to connect. Mixed groups gave younger and older students the chance to work together, help each other, and enjoy the activities as a team. It also created a lively festival feeling across the school, with students moving from room to room and discovering what each activity had in store.
The activities were full of Halloween spirit. Students could enjoy games, challenges, and creative tasks with a spooky theme. Some activities encouraged teamwork, while others gave students the chance to be silly, brave, or imaginative.
The best part was the atmosphere. There was excitement in each classroom, and students were eager to find out what came next. The “spooooky” mood carried through the day, but it always stayed fun and friendly.
Why Days Like This Matter
Halloween celebrations are fun, but they also support important parts of school life. They give students a chance to express themselves, try something different, and make shared memories.
A costume day may look simple from the outside, but it can help students feel part of a community. When everyone joins in, the school feels connected. Students notice each other’s ideas, laugh together, and celebrate creativity.
The class play added another layer to the day. It showed how performance can bring students together and give them a chance to shine. Some students may enjoy acting, while others may prefer helping behind the scenes, but everyone plays a part in making a performance work.
The Global Class parties also showed the value of learning across year groups. When Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 students mix, they practise communication and cooperation in a natural way. Older students can support younger ones, and younger students can learn by watching and joining in.
These moments help build confidence, friendship, and school spirit.
A Big Thank You to the JIS Community
A day like this only works when many people make an effort. Students prepared costumes, teachers planned activities, and everyone helped create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
The result was a fun Halloween celebration filled with laughter, creativity, and teamwork. From the amazing costumes to the Class 5-1 Dracula play, and from the Global Class parties to the spooky classroom activities, the day gave everyone something to enjoy.
Spooky Halloween Fun at JIS with Costumes Plays and Global Class Activities was more than just a celebration. It was a reminder of how joyful school can be when students and teachers come together with energy and imagination.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Halloween at JIS such a fantastic day. What a fun celebration, and what a wonderful effort from all involved!
