Last week brought an exciting mix of sports and cultural exchange to our school. Students in P5G and P51 had the chance to sharpen their volleyball skills together during P.E. classes. At the same time, we welcomed special guest teachers from Japan who shared their expertise and connected with the students in meaningful ways. This week was a great example of learning through activity and collaboration.

Volleyball Practice Brings Classes Together

The gym buzzed with energy as P5G and P51 joined forces for volleyball sessions. The students worked on several key techniques, including serving, passing, and setting. These skills are essential for building teamwork and coordination on the court.

Some highlights from the volleyball practice included:

  • Serving drills that helped students improve accuracy and power.

  • Passing exercises focusing on control and communication between teammates.

  • Mini-games where students applied their new skills in friendly matches.

The combined classes created a supportive environment where students encouraged each other and celebrated progress. Many students expressed how much they enjoyed practicing with peers from another class, which added a fresh dynamic to their usual routine.

Special Guest Teachers from Japan

Our school had the privilege of hosting guest teachers from Japan, who are currently training to become educators. These teachers spent time observing classes and leading lessons, bringing authentic cultural insights and teaching methods.

One memorable moment was a lesson led by a guest teacher for P5G. The session was engaging and interactive, introducing students to new ways of learning and thinking. The guest teachers also took part in volleyball practice, joining the students in the gym and sharing tips from their own experiences.

This exchange created a valuable connection between the students and the visiting teachers. It also gave students a glimpse into teaching styles from Japan, enriching their educational experience beyond the usual curriculum.

Building Skills and Friendships

The week’s activities showed how sports and cultural exchange can work hand in hand to build skills and relationships. Volleyball practice helped students develop physical abilities and teamwork, while the guest teachers brought fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to the classroom.

Students learned not only about volleyball techniques but also about respect, cooperation, and openness to new ideas. These lessons extend beyond the gym and classroom, shaping how students interact with others in everyday life.

Looking Ahead

The success of last week’s activities encourages us to continue blending physical education with cultural experiences. Future plans include more joint sports sessions and additional visits from guest teachers to keep inspiring our students.
