Last week, P4G delivered a series of thoughtful presentations about water problems around the world. After weeks of research and class discussions, students worked in teams to explore how countries like Kenya, Indonesia, Haiti, Pakistan, and China face challenges such as drought, pollution, flooding, and poor water infrastructure.
Each group created slides packed with country facts, maps, and powerful images. They explained not only the causes of these water issues, but also the impact on people’s daily lives — from walking long distances for clean water to homes being flooded or water made unsafe by pollution. The children also noticed important similarities: although each country is unique, many share the same struggles when it comes to accessing safe water.
Our classroom was filled with curiosity, teamwork, and empathy as students taught each other about the global importance of water. We look forward to continuing our unit by exploring solutions and welcoming a special guest from UNICEF, who will share how organizations help children and families get the clean water they need.
