Our recent Club Day brought together students from P4, P5, and P6 to share their interests and learn from each other. This event was more than just fun; it was a chance to explore different hobbies and traditions, building friendships across grades. The variety of clubs made sure there was something for everyone, from sports to culture and technology.
Exploring Different Clubs Together
The day featured eight clubs, each offering a unique experience:
Ball Games: Students enjoyed team sports that encouraged cooperation and physical activity.
Science: Hands-on experiments sparked curiosity and problem-solving skills.
Art: Creative projects allowed students to express themselves through drawing and crafting.
ICT: Technology enthusiasts explored coding and digital tools.
Japanese Tea Ceremony: This club stood out with experts and parents joining to teach the traditional art of tea preparation and appreciation.
Ping Pong: Fast-paced matches helped students develop focus and agility.
Rainbow Room: A space for relaxation and socializing, promoting inclusivity.
Wadaiko (Japanese Drums): Students learned rhythms and teamwork through traditional drumming.
Each club brought something special, showing how diverse interests can come together in one event.
Learning from Experts and Parents
One highlight was the Japanese Tea Ceremony club. Experts and parents volunteered to guide the students, sharing knowledge about this cultural tradition. Their presence added depth to the experience, making it more authentic and meaningful. Students not only learned the steps but also the values of respect and mindfulness behind the ceremony.
Building Friendships Across Grades
Club Day created a space where P4, P5, and P6 students mixed freely. Older students helped younger ones, and everyone had a chance to try new activities. This interaction strengthened the school community and encouraged teamwork. The variety of clubs meant students could find common ground, whether through sports, arts, or cultural activities.
Encouraging New Interests and Skills
Trying different clubs helped students discover new hobbies and talents. For example, some who joined the Wadaiko club found a passion for music, while others enjoyed the challenge of ICT projects. The event showed that exploring diverse activities can build confidence and broaden horizons.
A Day to Remember
The last Club Day was a clear success. It celebrated diversity, teamwork, and learning outside the classroom. Students left with new skills, friendships, and memories. Events like this remind us how important it is to support varied interests and bring people together. Please see some picture below:
