Our First GCA: Global Class Assembly and Embracing Safety and Teamwork

This week marked a special milestone with our first GCA Global Class Assembly. The event was led by P6 students who showcased their creativity and leadership through engaging presentations and activities. Alongside this, we successfully conducted a fire safety drill where 5G students demonstrated responsibility and calmness. These experiences highlighted the importance of teamwork, safety, and the six key goals we strive to live by every day.

P6 Leads the Way with the Global Class Assembly

The assembly focused on the six GCA goals: reflective, inquirer, risk-taker, thinker, open-minded, and communicator. P6 students took charge by preparing presentations that explained each goal clearly and meaningfully. Their efforts went beyond just talking about these qualities—they designed interactive activities that helped everyone practice them.

For example, during the session on being reflective, students shared stories about learning from mistakes and thinking about how to improve. The inquirer segment encouraged curiosity, with questions that sparked lively discussions. To explore being a risk-taker, P6 organized a challenge where participants tried new tasks outside their comfort zones, showing how taking chances can lead to growth.

The assembly also emphasized the importance of being a thinker by solving puzzles and problems together. To promote being open-minded, students listened to different perspectives and shared their own ideas respectfully. Finally, the communicator goal was practiced through group discussions and presentations, helping everyone express themselves clearly.

This event was a great example of how students can lead and inspire their peers while reinforcing important values that support learning and personal growth.

Fire Safety Drill Shows Responsibility in Action

Safety is a priority in our school community, and this week’s fire safety drill proved how well-prepared our students are. The drill was conducted smoothly, with 5G students showing excellent behavior throughout the process. They followed instructions carefully, moved quickly but calmly, and gathered at the designated safe area without confusion.

This drill was more than a routine exercise. It gave students a chance to practice being sensible and safe in an emergency. Teachers praised 5G for their focus and cooperation, which helped the drill run efficiently. This experience reminds everyone how important it is to stay alert and work together when safety is involved.

Building a Stronger Community Together

Both the Global Class Assembly and the fire safety drill reflect the values we want to build in our school community. The assembly encouraged students to develop skills like thinking critically, communicating clearly, and being open to new ideas. The fire drill reinforced the need to act responsibly and support one another in challenging situations.

These activities show how learning goes beyond the classroom. By participating in events like these, students grow as individuals and as members of a team. They learn to lead, listen, and respond thoughtfully—skills that will help them throughout their lives.

As we move forward, we look forward to more opportunities where students can take the lead and practice these important goals. Everyone’s involvement makes our school a safer, more supportive, and inspiring place to learn.
