Changing the narrative!

Have you ever dreamed of changing the way one of your favourite books ended? Have you had the desire to add your thoughts and feelings to a character? Well, P5-G have done just that!

We have been reading Fantastic Mr. Fox and even though Roald Dahl is a fantastic writer, but he would never be a match for the brains of these superb students!

First we read up to chapter 7, then we talked about how the story was going so far and where it might head in the succeeding chapters. We used the book and our imaginations to unravel a new set of situations for the three nasty farmers, Mr. Fox and his family.

After writing our new chapters, the students both read and commented on each others work using post-it notes. This helped them to build relationships with each other, introspect on their own work and to realise how many branches a story tree can have.

Look out Roald Dahl! We might have found the next best writer to take your crown!
