This week has been nothing short of exhilarating, filled with activities that sparked joy and curiosity! From swimming classes to culinary explorations, our busy school week was packed with unforgettable moments. Let’s jump into the highlights that made this week truly special. Pictures at the bottom!
Closed Racetrack but Open Minds
We had high hopes for an exciting day at Green Lane, but our plans hit a snag when the racetrack was closed. Instead of letting this stop us, our students displayed incredible resilience and creativity. Their ability to adapt not only turned a disappointment into a fun day but also showed how they can think on their feet. This experience highlighted the value of flexibility and teamwork—a lesson we all can appreciate!
Swimming Progress
Our swimming lessons this week were truly remarkable. Every student displayed noticeable progress. In fact, everyone beat their previous times! The transformation was heartwarming, filled with joy and laughter as peers cheered each other on. Watching their confidence grow in the water is a testament to their hard work and determination. By the end of the week, many students expressed how proud they felt when they achieved personal goals, like swimming a full lap without stopping!
Culinary Delights with Miss Hotta
Thanks to Miss Hotta, our cooking session turned into an engaging culinary adventure. Together, we explored various vegetables, preparing healthy meals that filled our classroom with delightful aromas. As students chopped, mixed, and sautéed, they learned about nutrition basics. For example, they discovered that carrots are rich in vitamin A, which is essential for good vision. By the end of the lesson, we not only savored a delicious meal but also instilled a passion for cooking. Many students eagerly asked to recreate the dishes at home, sharing their newfound skills with their families.
Beans Sprouting with Anticipation
In our science lessons, the excitement continued as we monitored our sprouting beans. Each sprout symbolizes personal growth, reminding students of the importance of care and patience in learning. They eagerly noted their observations, sharing insights on the beans' needs for sunlight and water. This hands-on activity reinforced their understanding of plant life cycles and the responsibility required to nurture living things. By the end of the week, each group proudly showcased their thriving plants, sparking discussions about what else can grow in our school garden.
Trusting Relationships with Class 6G
The week took a delightful turn when Class 6G entrusted us with their Medaka fish and shared valuable tips on their care. Learning about these creatures deepened our understanding of ecosystems and responsibility. Students collaborated on creating a feeding schedule, ensuring the fish received the right diet while keeping their tank clean. This trust between classes fostered a sense of community and teamwork. It’s rewarding to see how learning to care for living beings can strengthen our bond with nature and each other.
Reflecting on an Inspiring Week
This week was an incredible mix of learning, growth, and collaboration. Through swimming, cooking, and observing nature, our students practiced resilience, teamwork, and responsibility. It’s inspiring to witness their enthusiasm for challenges and their eagerness to engage in meaningful experiences. Here’s to more weeks of exploration, growth, and fun—where the most valuable lessons happen not just in books, but through hands-on experiences!
